Profile:
Rajesh Sawhney is a key member of the Reliance ADAG Apex leadership team. He is responsible for the Group’s entry strategy and game-plan for entertainment, media and online verticals: spanning movie eco-system, Radio and TV broadcasting, Internet and New Media ventures, broadband and mobile content and services.
In a short span of 2 years, Reliance Entertainment has built leading businesses in many entertainment/media verticals. In Broadcasting, Big FM has become the No. 1 radio station network in India with 44 stations within a year of launch.
In Filmed Entertainment space, Adlabs leads in Exhibition, and processing businesses. In New Media space, Zapak.com has become No.1 online games portal in India by a large distance.
Recently, Reliance Entertainment launched 5 new initiatives: Big Motion Pictures and Studios, Bigadda.com [social networking and media-sharing portal], Big Animation Venture, Big Music and Home Entertainment, and Bigflicks.com [Movie rental and Broadband Venture].
Rajesh comes to Reliance Entertainment from The Times of India Group where he was Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Times Internet Limited. During 14 years with The Times of India Group, Rajesh created successful businesses across several areas: Publishing, Radio & TV, Retailing, Internet, E-commerce, Travel and Mobile value added services.
Rajesh is an alumnus of Harvard Business School [AMP 173], and has a fellowship in “Globalisation and Leadership” from the London School of Economics. |
